Mr. Raouf Abou Zaki is currently the CEO of Al-Iktissad Wal-Aamal Group.
He holds several positions including Editor in Chief of Al-Iktissad Wal-Aamal Magazine and Secretary General of the Arab Union of Al-Iktissad Wal-Aamal Forum, which is affiliated with the Council of Arab Economic Unity.
Mr. Abou Zaki was the Business Editor of Al-Nahar newspaper in Beirut. He was also Vice Chairman of the Investment Development Authority of Lebanon (IDAL).
He serves on the Board of Directors of the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture of Beirut and Mount Lebanon. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Swiss-Arab Chamber of Commerce and the Lebanese Management Association (LMA).

H.E. Mr. Choucair is currently the Minister of Telecommunications in Lebanon.
H.E. Mr. Choucair was CEO and Vice President of Patchi, one of the most renowned chocolate brands in the region. He has also launched several industrial projects and invested in several real estate companies.
He assumed responsibilities in several professional associations and contributed to the foundation of many others. He is currently the Chairman of the Federation of the Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture of Lebanon, Chairman of the Lebanese Economic Organizations, & Bureau member of the Economic and Social council in Lebanon.
In April 2012, he became Chairman of the Association of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of the Mediterranean (ASCAME) based in Barcelona and grouping 220 chambers around the Mediterranean.

Mr. Charafeddine is the First Vice-Governor of the Banque du Liban, Lebanon’s Central Bank. He is Alternate Governor of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and Arab Monetary Fund (AMF) in Lebanon. Mr. Charafeddine chairs the Islamic Banking Regulatory Committee and is a member of the Bank’s Central Council (Board)
Mr. Charafeddine is Co-Chair of the Advisory and Technical Committees of the Islamic Financial Risk Management program (IFRM)[1].
Mr. Charafeddine holds Masters and Bachelor Degrees in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina, USA.
H.E. Eng. Gebran Bassil is the Minister of Energy and Water in Lebanon.

Nizar Younes is chairman emeritus and co-founder of Butec Corporation (1966) – one of the most prominent construction companies in the Middle East. Prior to that, he was member of the High Commission for planning at the Lebanese Ministry of planning, and taught engineering and economics at the Lebanese University and Université Saint-Joseph.
During his university years, and in the wake of the 1958 crisis, Nizar Younes managed to unify students of different Lebanese Universities within a national students’ union of which he was first president 1961. Since then, he has consistently been an active opponent of the sectarian political system, and assumes a leading role in the discourse calling for a secular state. Early 2015 Nizar Younes relinquished chairmanship of Butec Corporation and is devoted to national democratic action.

Mr. Ghobril is the Chief Economist and Head of the economic research and analysis department at Byblos Bank Group since March 2006.
Previously, he was Head of economic research at Saradar Bank and head of research at Lebanon Invest. He also worked for several years in the United States in research and consulting.
He is a member of the Research and Studies Committee at the Association of Banks in Lebanon, member of the World Economic Association, member of the Advisory Board of the Faculty of Business Administration at the Lebanese American University, and member of the Levant Institute for Strategic Affairs, as well as a member of the Lebanese Association for the Rights of Taxpayers (ALDIC).

Dr. Khoury is the President of the Lebanese Chamber of Commerce & Industry in Cote D’ivoire.
He is also Chairman of the Board of the International Polyclinic of Indénié (Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire) and member of the Economic and Social Council of Côte d’Ivoire.
He was previously President and CEO of Medical Group of Plateau – Côte d’Ivoire and Founder and Shareholder of the Polyclinic Avicennes.
Dr. Khoury graduated from Faculty of Medicine of Abidjan.

Mr. Haitham Jumaa is the Director General of Emigrants in the Lebanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs & Emigrants.
Prior to his current position he practiced his job as a lawyer for 15 years.
He was a member of several committees, including the Committee of Nationality Law, the political and security committee headed by President of the Republic, and the Drafting Committee of Lausanne and Geneva Conferences.
He contributed in drafting the legal and regulatory texts for the Ministry of Expatriates.
He has several economic studies and is familiar with emigration issues.
Mr. Jumaa graduated from the Faculty of Law at the Lebanese University, and holds a diploma in private law.
Mr. Mohamad Hachem is the founder and owner of several trading, industrial, and real estate companies in Lebanon, Gabon, and Angola. He contributed to the development of businesses in several Africans countries.
He is a member of the world Lebanese Cultural Union since 1990 and has held several leadership responsibilities including: Secretary-General of the World Lebanese Cultural Union in 2015, first deputy chairman of the African continental Council of the Lebanese Cultural Union in the world since 2000, and President of the Lebanese community in Gabon for the years 1990-2000.

Mr. Abushakra is the Chairman of Esol Education which started and managed outstanding American and International accredited schools, in Egypt, Lebanon, Cyprus, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Gaza and now Hong Kong enrolling over 10,000 students.
He was inducted to the Hall of Fame in America. The International Schools Association (NGO of the United Nations) granted him the award of distinguished Service to International Education in 2007. He also received the award of Outstanding Contribution to International Education from the Mediterranean Association of International Schools (MAIS).
Recently, “Esol Education” entered a joint venture partnership with “The American University of Beirut” to establish and manage educational institutions outside Lebanon.

Dr. Gemayel is presently Chairman General Manager at Gemayel Freres S.A.L. ,a family owned corrugated cardboard & packaging company, established in 1929.
He is Chairman General Manager of two sister companies “ Société Libanaise de Carton” (SOLICAR) S.A.L. and “ Blue Pack SAL” , as well as GEMDOUBS sas a paper mill company in France.
In addition Dr. Gemayel is Lecturer at Université Saint-Joseph in Strategic Management & in the MBAIP joint program with Paris IX Dauphine and Paris 1 Sorbonne.
His other occupations in professional bodies include, President of the Association of the Lebanese Industrialists (ALI), President of “the Syndicate of the Owners of Paper & Packaging Industries in Lebanon, & President of “The Arab Federation for Paper, Packaging and Printing Industries.

تولى مناصب ومهام تعليمية عديدة في الجامعة اللبنانية الأميركية والجامعة الأميركية في بيروت، وحاضر في عدد كبير من المؤتمرات والندوات في لبنان ومنطقة الشرق الأوسط وشمال إفريقيا وأوروبا والولايات المتحدة الأميركية.
حاصل على إجازة وماجستير في إدارة الأعمال من الجامعة الأميركية في بيروت، ودكتوراه في العلوم الاقتصادية من جامعة ليدز (LEEDS) في بريطانيا.
Mr. Bissat is currently the Chairman of Export Promotion Board in the Association of Lebanese Industrialists, and Secretary of the Syndicate of Lebanese Food Industrialists.
He is also Chairman of GS 1 Lebanon, & Treasurer at LIBANPACK.
He was previously Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce Industry & Agriculture in Saida and South Lebanon.
Mr. Bissat holds a B.E. in Mechanical Engineering from the American University of Beirut & MBA from the Lebanese American University.
يشغل الاستاذ منير البساط منصب رئيس مجلس تنمية الصادرات في جمعية الصناعيين اللبنانيين، وامين سر نقابة اصحاب الصناعات الغذائية اللبنانية.
كما انه رئيس الجمعية اللبنانية للترميز بالخطوط، وامين المال في الجمعية اللبنانية للتغليف.
شغل سابقا منصب نائب رئيس غرفة التجارة و الصناعة والزراعة في صيدا و لبنان الجنوبي.
حاصل على بكالوريوس في الهندسة الميكانيكية من الجامعة الاميركية في بيروت و ماجستير في ادارة الاعمال من الجامعة اللبنانية الاميركية.
This session will focus on emigrant social responsibility initiatives in communities abroad where they are active, and how to promote these initiatives and the contribution of expatriates in advancing economic and social development in their respective countries of emigration.
تركز هذه الجلسة على تجارب المغتربين في مبادرات المسؤولية الاجتماعية تجاه المجتمعات التي يعيشون بها وكيفية تعزيز هذه المبادرات ومساهمة المغتربين في دفع عجلة التنمية الاقتصادية والاجتماعية في هذه البلدان.
Mr. Nasser is a well-known Lebanese Businessman in Sierra leone.
He held several positions in the World Lebanese Cultural Union, mainly the Secretary General of Sierra Leone branch, and President of the National Council there, and then he was elected as its Global Chairman.
He was the President of the African Continental Council in Abidjan, Ivory Cost, for two sessions.
In 2002 he was elected as the first Arab and Lebanese member in the World Organization of diamonds, which is supported by the Belgian government.
Mr. Nasser contributed to the establishment of Lebanese schools & embassies in several African countries.
الاستاذ احمد ناصر من كبار رجال الاعمال اللبنانيين في سيراليون.
شغل عدة مراكز في الجامعة اللبنانية الثقافية ، ابرزها الامين العام لفرع الجامعة في سيراليون ، ورئيس المجلس الوطني للجامعة هناك، ثم انتخب رئيسا عالميا لها. وفي تشرين اول الفائت انتخب بالتزكية رئيسا فخريا مدى الحياة.
انتخب في ابيدجان ساحل العاج رئيسا للمجلس القاري الافريقي وكان اول رئيس لهذا المجلس، كما اعيد انتخابه لدورة اخرى.
في عام 2002انتخب كأول عربي ولبناني في المنظمة العالمية للالماس المدعومة من الحكومة البلجيكية.
ساهم في انشاء مدارس لبنانية في عدة دول افريقية وفي بناء سفارات لبنانية في عدد من الدول.
Dr. Jaafar has been the Executive Chairman of several companies in Nigeria, including Apple & Pears Limited, Holborn Nigeria Limited, United Integrated Construction Limited, Elion House Limited, and Everest Sterling Limited.
He is a member of the Lebanese-Nigerian Initiative, Day Waterman College, and Texas State board of Pharmacy.
Dr. Jaafar holds Bachelor of Science from the American University of Beirut, Bachelor of Pharmacy from University of Houston, in Texas, and PhD in Arab and Islamic History from the American University of London, UK.
يشغل الدكتور حبيب جعفر منصب رئيس مجلس الادارة التنفيذي في عدة شركات في نيجيريا، ابرزها ابل أند بيرز المحدودة، هولبورن نيجيريا، يونايتد انتغرايتد كونستراكشن، اليون هاوس، و افيريست ستيرلنغ.
كما انه عضو في المبادرة اللبنانية النيجيرية ، وجامعة داي ووترمان، و مجلس ولاية تكساس للصيدلة.
د. جعفر حاصل على درجة البكالوريوس في العلوم من الجامعة الاميركية في بيروت، ودرجة البكالوريوس في الصيدلة من جامعة هيوستن في تكساس، بالإضافة الى درجة الدكتوراه في التاريخ العربي والاسلامي من الجامعة الاميركية في لندن، المملكة المتحدة.
Mr. Fakhry is the Chairman of Interplast Limited, the biggest producer of UPVC pipes in West Africa.
He has always been dedicated to the expansion of product development and business in Ghana, where he co-founded a real estate development company, Dream Realty in 2011.
Around the same time, Mr. Fakhry also invested in MANSCO stone quarry, as well as in the development of a brand new state of art factory that produces innovative insecticide products that will make a large contribution to the African continent in its continuous battle against malaria and other vector borne diseases.
He holds a Bachelor’s in Political Science & Economy from the American University in Beirut.
الاستاذ سعيد فخري هو رئيس مجلس ادارة شركة انتربلاست، وهي اكبر منتج للأنابيب في غرب افريقيا.
عمل على تطوير عدة منتجات وتوسيع دائرة اعماله في غانا، حيث شارك في تأسيس شركة للتطوير العقاري عام 2011.كما استثمر في انشاء مصنع لمبيدات الحشرات والذي من المتوقع ان يساهم في دفع الجهود التي تبذلها القارة الافريقية في محاربة الملاريا.
الاستاذ فخري حاصل على شهادة في العلوم السياسية والاقتصاد من الجامعة الاميركية في بيروت.
H.E. Mr. Haidar has worked in diverse industries ranging from trade, export & import to construction & contracting. His businesses covered several countries including Gabon, Ivory Coast, Togo, Burkina Faso, Benin, & Sao Tome and Principe.
He served as Assistant Secretary General of the World Lebanese Cultural Union for African affairs, a position through which he founded new branches in the continent and expanded the existing ones, hence enhancing solidarity and unity among the Lebanese diaspora in Africa.
In 2015, he was elected as First Vice President for the World Lebanese Cultural Union.
In recognition of his leading role in the development and prosperity of the countries in which his businesses operated, H.E. Mr. Haidar was appointed by the President of the Republic of Sao Tome and Principe as Honorary Consul in Lebanon.
تنوعت أعمال القنصل حيدر من التجارة الى الاستيراد والتصدير والتوزيع الى حقل البناء والمقاولات واتسعت دائرة أعماله لتشمل بالاضافة الى الغابون ، شاطئ العاج ، التوغو ، بوركينا فاسو ، بنين وساو تومي وبرنسيب .
شغل منصب أمين عام مركزي مساعد في الجامعة اللبنانية الثقافية في العالم للشؤون الأفريقية ، فقام بجولات موفقة في القارة المذكورة ، اسّس خلالها العديد من الفروع ، وفعّل القائم منها ، حيث انعكست نشاطاته ايجاباً على مسيرة الجالية وتضامنها ووحدتها .
وفي العام 2015 ، انتخب نائب أول للرئيس العالمي للجامعة اللبنانية الثقافية في العالم.
وتقديراً لنشاطاته المتعددة ودوره البارز في انماء وازدهار البلدان التي شرّعت له أبواب ومجالات العمل ، وعلاقته المميزة مع سلطاتها وأولياء الأمر فيها ، اختاره رئيس جمهورية ساو تومي وبرنسيب قنصلاً فخرياً لبلاده في لبنان.
Dr. Makram Sader is currently the Secretary General of the Association of Banks in Lebanon.
He is a board member of Caisse Nationale de la Sécurité Sociale (CNSS) and member of the Lebanese Economic & Social Council and member of the Lebanese Economic & Social Council.
He also acted as Chairman of Lebanon’s Banking Commission.
Dr. Sader began his career as a professor of economics at the Lebanese University while carrying out several studies as a full time researcher at CERMOC.
He holds a Ph.D in Economics from the University of Grenoble-France.
يشغل د. مكرم صادر حاليا منصب أمين عام جمعية مصارف لبنان.
هو عضو مجلس إدارة الصندوق الوطني للضمان الاجتماعي و مجلس رجال الأعمال اللبناني السرياني وعضو المجلس الاقتصادي والاجتماعي اللبناني. كما عمل رئيسا للجنة المصرفية في لبنان.
بدأ د. صادر حياته المهنية أستاذا للاقتصاد في الجامعة اللبنانية أثناء تأدية العديد من الدراسات كباحث متفرغ في CERMOC.
حاصل على درجة الدكتوراه في الاقتصاد من جامعة غرونوبل، فرنسا.
Dr. Hassan Obeid is an economic analyst. He works as a researcher in the domain of banking and finance, and he is also an author of several scientific articles. Currently, he’s the head of the Finance and Accounting Department at the European Business School – Paris.
He has worked as trainer of Finance at the Kuwait Petroleum Company. He has also worked for international universities such as United Arab Emirates University Grenoble Ecole de Management and Lebanese University.
Dr. Obeid holds a bachelor’s degree in management and accounting from the Lebanese University, and a Ph.D. in Finance from Université Pierre Mendès France.
Dr. Mazen Soueid is the Chairman General Manager of IDAL. Previously he was the economic advisor to the Lebanese Prime Minister and President of the Productive Sectors Committee of the Economic Social Council of the Lebanese Republic. Dr. Soueid holds a PhD in Economics from Brown University in Providence RI. Earlier in his career he was an economist at Deutsche Bank in London and New York and at the International Monetary Fund in Washington DC. Dr. Soueid is also a lecturer in the Economics Department at the American University of Beirut.
The President of the Council of Ministers in Lebanon, HE Mr. Tamam Salam has lauded Mr. Berri’s patronage of the conference especially that he is among the leading officials who give major importance and attention to emigration. HE Mr. Salam emphasized the government’s interest in and support for the conference
