    • Raouf Abou Zaki, CEO, Al-Iktissad Wal-Aamal Group
    • Raouf Abou Zaki

      Mr. Raouf Abou Zaki is currently the CEO of Al-Iktissad Wal-Aamal Group.

      He holds several positions including Editor in Chief of Al-Iktissad Wal-Aamal Magazine and Secretary General of the Arab Union of Al-Iktissad Wal-Aamal Forum, which is affiliated with the Council of Arab Economic Unity.

      Mr. Abou Zaki was the Business Editor of Al-Nahar newspaper in Beirut. He was also Vice Chairman of the Investment Development Authority of Lebanon (IDAL).

      He serves on the Board of Directors of the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture of Beirut and Mount Lebanon. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Swiss-Arab Chamber of Commerce and the Lebanese Management Association (LMA).

      رؤوف أبو زكي

      الرئيس التنفيذي، مجموعة الاقتصاد والأعمال لبنان

      الأستاذ رؤوف أبو زكي يشغل حاليا منصب الرئيس التنفيذي لمجموعة الاقتصاد والأعمال.

      يشغل عدة مناصب منها رئيس تحرير مجلة الاقتصاد والأعمال الأمين العام للاتحاد العربي لمنتدى الاقتصاد والأعمال، التابع لمجلس الوحدة الاقتصادية العربية.

      كما شغل الأستاذ أبو زكي منصب محرر الأعمال في صحيفة "النهار" وكان نائب رئيس المؤسسة العامة لتشجيع الإستثمارات في لبنان (ايدال).

      هو عضو مجلس إدارة غرفة التجارة والصناعة والزراعة في بيروت وجبل لبنان ومجلس إدارة الغرفة العربية السويسرية للتجارة، الجمعية اللبنانية لإدارة الأعمال


    • H.E. Mohamed Choucair, President, Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry and Agriculture in Lebanon
    • H.E. Mohamed Choucair

      H.E. Mr. Choucair is currently the Minister of Telecommunications in Lebanon.

      H.E. Mr. Choucair was CEO and Vice President of Patchi, one of the most renowned chocolate brands in the region. He has also launched several industrial projects and invested in several real estate companies.

      He assumed responsibilities in several professional associations and contributed to the foundation of many others. He is currently the Chairman of the Federation of the Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture of Lebanon, Chairman of the Lebanese Economic Organizations, & Bureau member of the Economic and Social council in Lebanon.

      In April 2012, he became Chairman of the Association of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of the Mediterranean (ASCAME) based in Barcelona and grouping 220 chambers around the Mediterranean.

      معالي الأستاذ محمد شقير

      يشغل حاليا منصب وزير الاتصالات في الحكومة اللبنانية.

      شغل منصب الرئيس التنفيذي ونائب رئيس شركة باتشي، إحدى أشهر العلامات التجارية للشوكولا في المنطقة. كما أطلق العديد من المشاريع الصناعية واستثمر في العديد من الشركات العقارية.

      تولى مسؤوليات في العديد من الجمعيات المهنية وساهم في تأسيس العديد من الجمعيات الأخرى. يشغل حاليًا منصب رئيس اتحاد غرف التجارة والصناعة والزراعة في لبنان، ورئيس الهيئات الاقتصادية اللبنانية، كما انه عضو الهيئة الإدارية في المجلس الاقتصادي والاجتماعي في لبنان.

      في أبريل 2012، أصبح رئيسًا لرابطة غرف التجارة والصناعة في منطقة البحر الأبيض المتوسط (ASCAME) ومقرها برشلونة وتضم 220 غرفة حول البحر المتوسط.

      الرئيس والمدير العام، المؤسسة العامة لتشجيع الاستثمارات في لبنان (إيدال)

      كان أحد صانعي القرار الرئيسيين في عدد من اللجان التشريعية العليا في مهنة الهندسة في لبنان.

      قام بتصميم ومتابعة ودعم الاستراتيجيات الجديدة لتطوير مهنة الهندسة في لبنان، وعمل على جذب الاستثمارات القطاعية المختلفة إلى البلاد.

    • Dr. Fady Gemayel

      Dr. Gemayel is presently Chairman General Manager at Gemayel Freres S.A.L. ,a family owned corrugated cardboard & packaging company, established in 1929.

      He is Chairman General Manager of two sister companies “ Société Libanaise de Carton” (SOLICAR) S.A.L. and “ Blue Pack SAL” , as well as GEMDOUBS sas a paper mill company in France.

      In addition Dr. Gemayel is Lecturer at Université Saint-Joseph in Strategic Management & in the MBAIP joint program with Paris IX Dauphine and Paris 1 Sorbonne.

      His other occupations in professional bodies include, President of the Association of the Lebanese Industrialists (ALI), President of “the Syndicate of the Owners of Paper & Packaging Industries in Lebanon, & President of “The Arab Federation for Paper, Packaging and Printing Industries.

      Dr. Gemayel obtained an MS in Economics from Texas A&M University, an MA from Georgetown University in USA, and a “Doctorat” en Sciences de Gestion from Université Paris 1 Sorbonne – France.

      رئيس جمعية الصناعيين اللبنانيين، و رئيس مجلس إدارة ومدير عام شركة جميلّ اخوان ش.م.ل.

      أستاذ محاضر لطلاب الدكتوراه في جامعة القديس يوسف في بيروت في العلوم الادارية الاستراتيجية.

      حائز على دبلوم دراسات عليا في علوم إدارة الاعمال من جامعة روح القدس - لبنان، وشهادة الماجستير في العلوم الاقتصادية من جامعة جورج تاون - الولايات المتحدة الاميركية، وشهادة الدكتوراه في العلوم الاستراتيجية من جامعة باريس الاولى، السوربون – فرنسا.

      He holds MS degree in Economics from Texas A&M University, MA degree from Georgetown University in USA, a DEA in Sciences Commercials from the University St Esprit Kaslik, and a PhD in Business Sciences from Paris University 1 Sorbonne – France.

    • H.E. Riad Salamé

      H.E. Mr. Riad Salamé is the Governor of Banque du Liban (Central Bank of Lebanon).

      He chairs the following bodies: the BDL Central Council, the Higher Banking Commission, the Special Investigation Commission Fighting Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing and the Financial Markets Authority. H.E. is member of the Board of Governors at the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the Arab Monetary Fund (AMF).

      The main objective of H.E. monetary policy has always been to safeguard the Lebanese currency, in order to ensure the basis of a continuous economic and social growth.

      H.E. Mr. Salamé has received numerous awards including The Global Finance Magazine award as one of the best 6 Governers of central banks in the world for 2011. H.E also won the award Best Central Bank Governor in the Middle East in 2012 - The Banker magazine, and Best Central Bank Governor in the Middle East for 2013- Euromoney.

      • He held leading positions in McKinsey, Booz and Co., and Inventis Partners.
      • He holds a PhD in International Finance from Harvard, and a post-graduate degree in International Economics and Finance from the Institut d'Etudes Politiques de Paris. Mr. Azour has published several books and articles on economic and financial issues.

      • شغل سابقا منصب وزير المالية في لبنان خلال الأعوام 2005-2008، حيث نسق تنفيذ الإصلاحات الهامة بما في ذلك تحديث نظم الضرائب والجمارك.
      • شغل العديد من المناصب العليا في القطاع الخاص بما في ذلك Inventis Partners، وشركة ماكنزي وشركة بوز أند كو.

    • H.E. Mr. Ramzi Haidar

      H.E. Mr. Haidar has worked in diverse industries ranging from trade, export & import to construction & contracting. His businesses covered several countries including Gabon, Ivory Coast, Togo, Burkina Faso, Benin, & Sao Tome and Principe.

      He served as Assistant Secretary General of the World Lebanese Cultural Union for African affairs, a position through which he founded new branches in the continent and expanded the existing ones, hence enhancing solidarity and unity among the Lebanese diaspora in Africa.

      In 2015, he was elected as First Vice President for the World Lebanese Cultural Union.

      In recognition of his leading role in the development and prosperity of the countries in which his businesses operated, H.E. Mr. Haidar was appointed by the President of the Republic of Sao Tome and Principe as Honorary Consul in Lebanon.

      القنصل الفخري لساو تومي في لبنان

      تنوعت أعمال القنصل حيدر من التجارة الى الاستيراد والتصدير والتوزيع الى حقل البناء والمقاولات واتسعت دائرة أعماله لتشمل بالاضافة الى الغابون ، شاطئ العاج ، التوغو ، بوركينا فاسو ، بنين وساو تومي وبرنسيب .

      شغل منصب أمين عام مركزي مساعد في الجامعة اللبنانية الثقافية في العالم للشؤون الأفريقية ، فقام بجولات موفقة في القارة المذكورة ، اسّس خلالها العديد من الفروع ، وفعّل القائم منها ، حيث انعكست نشاطاته ايجاباً على مسيرة الجالية وتضامنها ووحدتها .

      وفي العام 2015 ، انتخب نائب أول للرئيس العالمي للجامعة اللبنانية الثقافية في العالم.

      وتقديراً لنشاطاته المتعددة ودوره البارز في انماء وازدهار البلدان التي شرّعت له أبواب ومجالات العمل ، وعلاقته المميزة مع سلطاتها وأولياء الأمر فيها ، اختاره رئيس جمهورية ساو تومي وبرنسيب قنصلاً فخرياً لبلاده في لبنان.

      He was previously President and CEO of Medical Group of Plateau – Côte d’Ivoire and Founder and Shareholder of the Polyclinic Avicennes.

      Dr. Khoury graduated from Faculty of Medicine of Abidjan.

      كما انه عضو في المبادرة اللبنانية النيجيرية ، وجامعة داي ووترمان، و مجلس ولاية تكساس للصيدلة.

      د. جعفر حاصل على درجة البكالوريوس في العلوم من الجامعة الاميركية في بيروت، ودرجة البكالوريوس في الصيدلة من جامعة هيوستن في تكساس، بالإضافة الى درجة الدكتوراه في التاريخ العربي والاسلامي من الجامعة الاميركية في لندن، المملكة المتحدة.

    • Wissam Harake

      Mr Wissam Harake is the Country Economist for Lebanon at the World Bank. He belongs to the Macro and Fiscal Management Global Practice at the Bank.

      Prior to his most recent stint with the Bank Group, Mr Harake was an economist with the Institute of International Finance based in Washington DC for two and half years, covering the Middle East and Africa region.

      Mr Harake holds a master's and a PhD in Economics from American University in Washington DC, as well as an MSc in Electrical Engineering from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Mr Harake is based in the World Bank Group's Beirut office.

      Mr. Fouad Hodroj holds a bachelor in Business Administration; he is the President of the Fouad Association for Educational Services.

      Mr. Hodroj is the Chairman of Belladona and High Fashion.

      Mr. Hodroj is a Board Member in the Egyptian-Lebanese Businessmen Friendship Association and the Chairman of the committee to activate economic relations in the same association.

      Prior to the current positions Mr. Hodroj held the position of Vice President of the Egyptian-Lebanese Businessmen Friendship Association, the representative of the State in the Industrial and Tourism Development Bank, Board Member of the National Council for Economic Relations and Association of Lebanese Industrialists.

      Dr. Philip A. Salem, physician, researcher, educator and international statesman in cancer medicine, serves as Director Emeritus of Cancer Research at Baylor/St. Luke’s Medical Center in Houston and is the President of Salem Oncology Center. Prior to his appointment at St. Luke’s, Dr. Salem served on the faculty of M.D. Anderson Cancer Center as professor of cancer medicine and research. In March 2010, St. Luke’s announced the establishment of a cancer research chair in his name to honor his contributions to cancer medicine and as “a lasting tribute to his leadership and vision in the field of oncology”.

      Dr. Salem is a renaissance intellectual and writer. He is the author of many editorials on Lebanon and he has published extensively on Arab affairs.

      Dr. Salem has a Bachelor of Science and a Doctor of Medicine from the American University of Beirut.

      Professor Hakim is Chevalier de la Legion d'Honneur, Consultant Surgeon and Professor of Transplantation Imperial College London. He is also Vice President Royal Society of Medicine and Governor American College of Surgeons.

      His previous positions include: Past President International College of Surgeons, Honorary Professorships from Lyon University, Ricardo Palma University, Başkent University, University of São Paulo and visiting professor at several institutions including Harvard University and the Cleveland Clinic.

      Professor Hakim has a Medical Doctorate Paris Rene Descartes University. Laureate of the Faculty of Medicine of Paris. Surgical training Guy’s Hospital, London and PhD from University College London. Gastrointestinal Fellowship Mayo Clinic, and Transplant Fellowship at the University of Minnesota.

    • Ziad Sankari

      Ziad founded his start-up CardioDiagnostics in 2012. CardioDiagnostics is based on a core life-saving technology that he developed during his research time. The project is award-winner on Stars of Science, a popular reality TV which promotes innovation in the Arab world. It is also the winner of the global GIST Tech-I competition.

      Ziad conducted research with top U.S. and Middle East hospitals. He has been a guest speaker at the White House discussing technology innovation in developing countries. He is actively promoting innovation and entrepreneurship in his community through coaching of young start-ups.

      Ziad completed a BE in Computer Engineering at the Lebanese American University and double Masters in Electrical Engineering and Biomedical Engineering at the Ohio State University.

    • Nassib I. Ghobril

      Mr. Ghobril is the Chief Economist and Head of the economic research and analysis department at Byblos Bank Group since March 2006.

      Previously, he was Head of economic research at Saradar Bank and head of research at Lebanon Invest. He also worked for several years in the United States in research and consulting.

      He is a member of the Research and Studies Committee at the Association of Banks in Lebanon, member of the World Economic Association, member of the Advisory Board of the Faculty of Business Administration at the Lebanese American University, and member of the Levant Institute for Strategic Affairs, as well as a member of the Lebanese Association for the Rights of Taxpayers (ALDIC).

      He is one of the most prominent economic figures in the media, as he is a regular host of local, Arab and international media.

      He was named as Best Lebanese Economist of the Year 2009 "," Best Sovereign Risks Analyst for 2010 "," Best Economic Research of 2012 "for the launch of the first consumer confidence index in Lebanon.

      نسيب غبريل

      نسيب غبريل هو كبير الاقتصاديين ورئيس مديرية البحوث والتحاليل الاقتصادية في مجموعة بنك بيبلوس منذ اذار2006، إحدى أكبر مجموعات الخدمات المصرفية والمالية في لبنان.

      سابقاً، كان رئيس قسم الأبحاث الاقتصادية في مجموعة بنك سرادار ورئيس قسم الأبحاث في مصرف الاستثمار Lebanon Invest. كما عمل لسنوات عدة في الولايات المتحدة في مجال البحوث والاستشارات. وقد أسس السيد غبريل أقسام البحوث الاقتصادية في مجموعة بنك بيبلوس ومجموعة بنك سرادار.

      Mr Abdallah Jabbour is the Managing Director of Lebanon for Entrepreneurs (LFE), an initiative created by prominent Lebanese diaspora organizations Lebnet, LIFE, and SEAL to accelerate the development of the technology startup ecosystem in Lebanon.

      Prior to LFE, Mr Jabbour worked at Oracle and Cisco in Silicon Valley, in roles that spanned software engineering, business development, business incubation, and corporate strategy. At Abraaj Capital in Dubai, Mr Jabbour worked on early-stage investments in the tech sector, and helped launch Abraaj's technology seed fund.

      Mr Jabbour holds a Bachelor of Engineering from the American University of Beirut, a Master of Science from MIT, and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management. He is fluent in Arabic, French, English, Spanish, and Portuguese.

      Rabih Hassouneh pursued his education at the Mission Laique Française and graduated in 1989. He then obtained with distinction a degree of Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from the Beirut Arab University in 1994 and his Master's degree in business administration in 2004 from Newport University.

      Since he graduated in 1994 he held several positions in the profession of pharmacy. Founded and manages since 1996 two Pharmaceutical Companies handling importation, distribution and Marketing of Pharmaceuticals on the Lebanese Market.

      He is Tutor of Pharmacy marketing and Management at the Faculty of Pharmacy at the Beirut Arab University (BAU) and the Lebanese International University (LIU).

      He was elected a member of the Board of the Lebanese Order of Pharmacists since 2008 and was elected secretary of the Order from 2009 until 2012.

      He was elected President of the Lebanese Order of Pharmacists in 2012.

      He also became a member of the International Federation of Pharmacists (FIP) since March 2013 and was elected as the first Lebanese pharmacist member of the Executive Committee of the Community Pharmacy Section in September 2014 for one year and was re-elected in October 2015 a member of the Committee for another 4 years.

      He was the first Lebanese Pharmacist to be elected on 25 October 2014 as President of the Arab Pharmacists Union.

      He was elected in October 2015 as President of FIP Forum for the East Mediterranean Region (EMROPharm Forum).

      Rabih Hassouneh is also founder and Member of the Board of Directors of the Egyptian Lebanese Company for Trade and Investment ELA S.A.L. and he was appointed in February 2017 as its General Manager.

      Dr. Bifani is the General Manager of the Ministry of Finance in Lebanon. He is a member of the Central Bank of Lebanon’s board and the Supreme Banking Court.

      He is Lebanon’s Alternate Governor at the World Bank, at the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development, and at the Agriculture Development Bank. In addition, he chairs the National Social Security fund’s financial committee.

      Dr. Naaman Azhari is currently the Chairman of BLOM Bank Group. The Association of Arab Bankers selected Dr. Naaman Azhari as the “Arab Banker of the Year”. At the early thirties of his age, Dr. Azhari founded and chaired the Arab East Bank, which was at the time one of the leading Syrian banks; and then held several ministerial positions in Syria, among them the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Economy.

      Dr Azhari holds a Doctorate degree in Economics from Paris, and holds degrees in law and political science.

      Dr. Azhari moved permanently to Lebanon after the banks nationalization in Syria took place in 1962.

      Appointed as the Secretary General of the Special Investigation Commission (SIC), the FIU of Lebanon on June 1st 2010. He is the President of MENAFATF for the year 2018 and was elected in July 2017, for the second time as the Egmont MENA Regional Representative and Vice Chair for the Egmont Group.

      Before joining the SIC, he held senior managerial positions including Chairman – General Manager, and Board Member of banking, insurance, investment, and real estate investment companies. The most recent were Chair of Board Audit Committee in 3 banks in Lebanon and Board Member of Solidere.

      For intermittent periods, Mr. Mansour held advisory positions to their excellences the Prime Ministers and Minister of Finance of Lebanon.

      Mr. Mansour earned his MBA and BBA from the American University of Beirut, and his LLB from Alexandria University and Beirut Arab University.

      He is a CAMS and a founding member of the Lebanese Certified Public Accountants Association (LCPA).

      He was the Managing Director for Legal & Compliance at Citibank - Middle East & North Africa. He is a former Lebanese Judge and a member of the N.Y. and American Bar associations.

      Mr Jebeyli has an LLM in International Banking from Boston University, School of Law.

      Mr. Ghobril is the Chief Economist and Head of the economic research and analysis department at Byblos Bank Group since March 2006.

      Previously, he was Head of economic research at Saradar Bank and head of research at Lebanon Invest. He also worked for several years in the United States in research and consulting.

      He is a member of the Research and Studies Committee at the Association of Banks in Lebanon, member of the World Economic Association, member of the Advisory Board of the Faculty of Business Administration at the Lebanese American University, and member of the Levant Institute for Strategic Affairs, as well as a member of the Lebanese Association for the Rights of Taxpayers (ALDIC).

      He is one of the most prominent economic figures in the media, as he is a regular host of local, Arab and international media.

      He was named as Best Lebanese Economist of the Year 2009 "," Best Sovereign Risks Analyst for 2010 "," Best Economic Research of 2012 "for the launch of the first consumer confidence index in Lebanon.

      نسيب غبريل هو كبير الاقتصاديين ورئيس مديرية البحوث والتحاليل الاقتصادية في مجموعة بنك بيبلوس منذ اذار2006، إحدى أكبر مجموعات الخدمات المصرفية والمالية في لبنان.

      سابقاً، كان رئيس قسم الأبحاث الاقتصادية في مجموعة بنك سرادار ورئيس قسم الأبحاث في مصرف الاستثمار Lebanon Invest. كما عمل لسنوات عدة في الولايات المتحدة في مجال البحوث والاستشارات. وقد أسس السيد غبريل أقسام البحوث الاقتصادية في مجموعة بنك بيبلوس ومجموعة بنك سرادار.
